Discovering and celebrating what makes you unique is the first step toward living the life you’re meant to live.

But sometimes life is too noisy, school is too overwhelming, and expectations are too confusing to decide what you really want and what is right for you. Self-discovery and listening to our inner selves are low on the list of priorities and personal fulfillment is often left out of the equation altogether. As a life coach dedicated to helping teen girls and young women discover and honor their true selves, I can help shed light on what matters.

It’s easy to feel like you’re spinning your wheels but you’re not really sure why. A life coach can help you uncover and identify your core values and see the bigger picture. Through a co-created relationship the client and coach set the agenda to tackle problems, overcome obstacles, and build skills and strengths so that goals can be achieved. Your life will feel more purposeful and fulfilling when you take an active role in making decisions that reflect your values.

_DSC4091Certified Teen Wisdom, Inc. Life Coach Katie Lowry works one-on-one with young adults and teen girls to help them clarify and achieve their goals. Prior to coaching, Katie taught dance and yoga at her alma mater Harvard-Westlake School (’99) in Los Angeles for six years. During her time teaching high school students at an elite college-prep school, Katie’s interest in working one-on-one with teens grew. Seeing firsthand how little time teens have for self-reflection, dreaming, and self-inquiry, Katie traveled to Massachusetts for an intensive study of teaching yoga to teens at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. After her training, Katie’s yoga teaching focused on tools and techniques that encouraged self-awareness and fostered self-acceptance and resilience through mindfulness. At Wesleyan University (’03) Katie graduated with honors with a double major in dance and psychology. Combining her training as a coach with her teaching experience and her background in performing arts and psychology, Katie helps young women understand themselves better, tap into their strengths, and feel more confident in their pursuits.

Life coaching provides teens and young adults the support, motivation and encouragement they need during a critical and often confusing time in their lives. Using tools and strategies that are relevant to their world, coaching fosters self-awareness and growth so that young women can achieve their highest potential.

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.
